THE
KANNICO
WORLD.

Floating islands. Upside-down waterfalls. Sentient mushrooms. This is the map of everything KANNICO calls home.

A World
Unlike Any
Other.

The KANNICO World exists somewhere between a dream you had at 3am and a cartoon that aired for exactly three episodes before disappearing forever. It floats in an undefined part of the universe, held together by KANNICO’s collective good vibes.

Nothing about this world obeys conventional physics. Islands float. Waterfalls go sideways. Buildings grow and shrink depending on the mood of the day. Somehow, it all works.

Scientists sent to study it came back changed. Mostly in a good way. One of them is still there by choice.

47
Floating Islands
Each one different. Each one a little strange. All of them perfect.
12
Upside-Down Waterfalls
Water that falls up. Completely normal here. Just go with it.
Stars in the Sky
KANNICO ate some of them. The rest are still there for now.

The Zones.

Six distinct regions of the KANNICO World, each with its own rules (or lack thereof).

01

The Upper Drift

The highest floating islands. Only reachable by cloud-surfing or being very optimistic. KANNICO is always here. Sometimes.

02

The Warm Valleys

Ground level. Warm. The mushrooms here are gigantic and mildly opinionated. The buildings have faces and they judge you.

03

The Neon Forest

Trees that glow at night. Paths that rearrange themselves. You will get lost. That is the point. KANNICO loves it here.

04

The Sideways Sea

A sea that runs vertically against the cliffside. Fish swim horizontally. Boats need to be very bold to be here.

05

The Frozen Peak

A single mountain that is cold despite being directly next to the sun. Unexplained. The locals stopped asking why.

06

The Star Archive

Where fallen stars land and are catalogued. KANNICO guards this place. Entry by invitation only. Nobody has been invited yet.

World
Inhabitants.

The KANNICO World is surprisingly well-populated for a place that shouldn’t exist. Here are some of the locals. They are all fine. Mostly.

From the Field Notes

“KANNICO appeared to greet us, ate what appeared to be a small meteorite, waved at us, and then flew into a cloud. We consider this a successful first contact.”

— Dr. E. Wanderer, field researcher (still there)

The Drifters

Cloud-beings that exist purely to carry KANNICO around. They complain mildly but secretly love their job.

Shroom Council

Five ancient mushrooms who govern the Warm Valleys. Their decisions take years. Nobody rushes them.

Starlings

Tiny creatures made of compressed starlight. They hum constantly. It is actually quite pleasant.

The Houses

Sentient buildings with opinions about who lives in them. They interview potential residents. Standards are high.

THE
RULES.

I
KANNICO Is Always Right
This is not a matter of ego. It is more of a physics thing. KANNICO’s instincts bend reality slightly. Just trust it.
II
Stars Are Not Snacks (Usually)
Except for KANNICO, for whom they absolutely are snacks. Everyone else: please leave the stars alone. They are doing important things.
III
The Mushrooms Have the Final Word on Tuesdays
Nobody remembers how this rule started. The Shroom Council simply appeared on a Tuesday and started ruling. It seemed fine.
IV
No Physics Experts Allowed
They ask too many questions. The world prefers to remain unexplained. It functions better that way, regardless of what logic says.
V
If a Cloud Offers You a Ride, Accept It
Refusing a cloud is considered rude. The Drifters are sensitive. Also, you will not find a better commute in any universe.
